The Big Score (Obvious Approach) - Mission Details:
Michael, Franklin, Trevor and Lester all meet at the Vanilla Unicorn. The three protagonists get changed into suits and go over the final plans for the heist. Michael drives to the Union Depository and picks up one of the gunmen.
Play then switches to Franklin, who is outside the underground vault, driving the Cutter. While Franklin is drilling a hole through the wall, Michael and the gunman are causing a distraction outside the front of the Union Depository.
Franklin then parks up the Cutter out of the way and plants explosive charges on the caged vault doors to get them open. Once the cages are open, a NOOSE team catches on to what they're doing and starts an assault. Franklin defends while the gunman gets the two carts full of gold into position for pick up.
Once the gold is in position and the NOOSE team have been defeated, Trevor arrives in his chopper and a driver in a second one. As Franklin and the gunman are attaching the winch of the two choppers to the gold, more NOOSE show up. While Franklin and the gunman deal with them, Trevor and the driver fly the gold towards Blain County.
Play switches to Michael. He and a second gunman are in a shootout with LSPD, trying to fight their way out from the Union Depository. A chopper will appear for Michael to deal with. Michael and the gunman get to Franklin's location, who is helping with the escape out.
After dealing with more cops and choppers, the trio makes their way to an underground parking lot, where the getaway car is. Before getting in the car, a couple of Grangers show up with NOOSE inside. The trio deals with them before fleeing the scene in the getaway car.
The group still have a five-star heat and must lose the cops. When the cops have been evaded, play switches to Trevor. Merryweather has found out who hit the Union Depository and is on the tail of Trevor and the second chopper.
Lester deals with the Merryweather choppers while Trevor keeps the chopper steady so he can get clean shots. If the Merryweather choppers aren't dealt with quick enough, the second chopper will crash and lose half the take. An inexperienced driver will crash regardless.
Once the Merryweather choppers are dealt with, the two choppers head to the train being driven by the second driver and drop off the gold onto one of the train cars. They then fly onto McKenzie Field Hanger, where all the crew is meeting, and land the choppers.
Whether half the take is lost depends on the mood of the group when they all meet at the McKenzie Field Hangar. Everyone is happy if they get all the take but the crew will become angry if half the take is lost. Michael, Trevor and Lester will fly to the golds new location, Franklin will drive off and the rest of the crew will fly away in the second chopper, ending the mission.
The Big Score: Best Approach & Maximum Revenue:
It is important to make the right choices for this heist as it gives the biggest payout of any mission.
The Obvious approach will get the highest revenue as in the Subtle approach the player will have to pay a $300,000 bribe, a minimum of $30,000 to upgrade the Bravados and requires a bigger and more expensive crew.
The best options are Taliana Martinez (5%) and Karim Denz (8%) as drivers. If Karim is inexperienced, he would need to drive the train or he'll crash the helicopter and lose half the score. Hire the cheapest gunmen, Daryl Johns (6%) and either Norm Richards or Hugh Welsh (7%). Use whoever is the most experienced as Gunman 2.
